Groundhog Detectives

Tomorrow is February the 2nd.  It is Groundhog Day. We do not have groundhogs in Newfoundland so we are going to pretend that we are groundhogs! Tomorrow, we will wake up and go outside and look for our shadows.
Some people say, that if a groundhog sees a shadow, spring will be 6 weeks away and winter weather will be everywhere. If the groundhog does not see his shadow, then springtime weather will be here soon and winter weather will not happen very often. We are wondering if this is a true story or a make believe story!

We hope that our friends around the world will help us! Please tell us if you have groundhogs where you live.  If you don't, you can pretend to be groundhogs too! Please leave us a comment to let us know if you saw your shadow or not!

Thank you!

Love, Mrs. Fennemore's Kinderkids!

  1. This is Mrs. Tipton, the teacher for @LRKindergarten. We do have groundhogs in Missouri. They did not see shadows this morning, though.

Hello Mrs. Fennemore's class. There are no groundhogs in Florida. I did not see my shadow this morning though so nice spring weather must be right around the corner.
