100 Days of Kindergarten

Today was our 100th Day of Kindergarten! We pretended that we were 100 years old!

We made a 100 piece puzzle!

The Red Group took 100 steps to music class! 100 steps made it to Mr. Downton's room.

We wrote our names for 100 seconds.  Amy wrote her name 18 times!

We built a castle with 100 blocks.

We made a 100 snack with 100 pieces.  Amelia liked the marshmallows best!

Zero the Hero skyped us. He read us a book all about Zero the Hero!  He asked us to count.  We counted from 0 to 10. Then we counted from 10 to 0. Then we counted from 3 to 9! We are experts!
Zero said Mrs. Fennemore looked 1000 years old!  Silly Zero!

Jack liked seeing Zero the Hero and making 100 snacks!
Grant liked the marshmallows in our snack!
Ethan liked doing our switcheroos!
Maia liked the marshmallows and cereal in our snack!
Isabella liked it when Zero the Hero skyped us!

Ms. Power and Mme Duff-Keats friends visited us for some exercises (Red Group).  We did 100!

Hip Hip Hooray for the 100th Day!

100th Day and Thank You!

Valentine's Day and Teacher Appreciation Week = One Spoiled Teacher!  Thank you to all who slipped a "love note", drawing, gift, or craft on my desk!  It certainly made me smile last night looking at every last one! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!

Just a reminder that Monday will be our 100th day of kindergarten!  Looking forward to having fun with my "old" friends. To add to the fun, feel free to come dressed like you are 100 years old!

Happy Love Day!

Love Day came and love certainly was everywhere!

Love is...

Love is delivering love notes to friends!

Love is creating masterpieces that make people smile!

The Red Group even found signs of love in a special snack!  The Blue Group will have to wait until our 100th day to find theirs!

Love is playing games with friends!

Love is listening to a story. Thank you to a Pod Two friend for reading to us!
We hope you earn your reading badge! :)

Love is reading your love notes form friends!

Love is Kindergarten!

Doodle Buddy

Yesterday, we explored an app on our iPads called Doodle Buddy.

First we used the iPad camera to take a picture of ourselves.  Next, we opened the photo in Doodle Buddy and used chalk to write our names.  Then we saved our new name photos!  We all did a superstar job!

Mrs. Fennemore showed us how we could mirror our creations on the smartboard for everyone to see!  It was magical!

Today, our Blue Group friends came back and some chose to create new stories on our iPads!  Some friends even remembered how to mirror their stories to the smartboard all by themselves!  Hooray!

Benjamin decided to document the very tall structure his group built in the building centre. Of course, he used Doodle Buddy and some great kindergarten writing to share his story - "The tower is high".  Didn't he do a great job?

Groundhog Detectives

Tomorrow is February the 2nd.  It is Groundhog Day. We do not have groundhogs in Newfoundland so we are going to pretend that we are groundhogs! Tomorrow, we will wake up and go outside and look for our shadows.
Some people say, that if a groundhog sees a shadow, spring will be 6 weeks away and winter weather will be everywhere. If the groundhog does not see his shadow, then springtime weather will be here soon and winter weather will not happen very often. We are wondering if this is a true story or a make believe story!

We hope that our friends around the world will help us! Please tell us if you have groundhogs where you live.  If you don't, you can pretend to be groundhogs too! Please leave us a comment to let us know if you saw your shadow or not!

Thank you!

Love, Mrs. Fennemore's Kinderkids!
