After a couple of delays, we finally were able to get outside to enjoy an Olympic Winter Fun Day! Ms. Waterman planned lots of fun activities for us! We ran, laughed lots, and most importantly, we worked together with our kindergarten friends! It was an awesome day! Here are some snapshots of our fun! We hope you like them!

Our Field Trip To The Fluvarium
We went on a field trip to The Fluvarium. It was fun! We learned a lot.
We saw lots of fish. They swim under the ice and in the muddy water. They swim slowly in winter because they don't want to get too tired or hungry. They can't catch much food in the winter. In the spring the fish will swim faster because it is warmer and they will be able to find more food.
We saw frogs. The frogs were not hibernating because they live inside the Fluvarium. Frogs are slimy and wet. If the circle behind the eye is bigger than an eye it is a boy. If it is smaller than the eye it is a girl. In winter, frogs go in the mud and they sleep. Frogs hibernate for 7 months.
We saw a snowshoe hare and snowshoe hare footprints. Showshoe hare stay active in winter. Showshoe hare are brown but they turn white in winter. People and other animals can't see them when they are white. They are camouflaged and will be safe from hunters and other animals.

Our Bucket of Snow!
And down came the snow once again! We decided to try to catch some of those big flakes that were falling with our water table! We only left our container outside for an hour and boy did we ever collect a lot of snow! It got so stormy we decided we had better bring it inside...and just in time for a special announcement...SNOWDAY for all!

Snowday Fun!
There was much discussion about yesterday's snowday! The kinderkids all enjoyed the first snowday of the season! After MANY stories were shared, we created mini masterpieces to show some snowy fun!
We also wrote a poem to share our stories!

Snowday!
Making snowpeople,
Making Snowforts,
Making snowangels,
Sliding at a snowparty,
Throwing snowballs,
Drinking hot chocolate,
We love snowdays!

SnowDay!
Shoveling, drinking hot chocolate, making a snowman,
playing in the snow, sledding, freezing, making an igloo,
throwing snowballs, making snowangels...
We love snowdays!
