Some of the kinderkids posed for a final photo by the tree or an "Elfie Selfie" like in the Primary Christmas Concert!
Not all kinders wanted photos...and that was okay too! But they did become stars of some special dances...even if they didn't know it! If you are looking for a giggle or two...here you go....

1. It's Fieldtrip Day! Remember to bring a recyclable shopping bag that will hold a pumpkin. If you could have it labeled with your kinders name it would be greatly appreciated.
2. We will also be visiting the library. Be sure to bring back the library book that came home last week so a new one can be chosen.
3. We will be visiting the book fair and making a list of the books we liked. Watch for the wishlist and purchasing information in your magic bag.
Wednesday: It's MDE Book Fair. Come and shop the Book Fair or send along anything you would like us to help your kinder purchase. We thank you for your support.
Thursday: School Spirit Day! Come to school dressed in PJ's!
Friday: No school due to PD Day!
Upcoming Events/Activities to watch for...
The kinders will have the opportunity to participate in an 8 week skating program beginning in January. Skates and a helmet will be needed by all to take part. Hopefully the early notice will give you time to borrow/purchase equipment if needed. More information about the program will come home early in November.
As always, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
This year we will be using FreshGrade to document, communicate, and assess learning during the kindergarten year. The suite of apps makes learning visible in real time through the use of digital portfolios and assessment tools. With the FreshGrade for Parents app, parents have secure access to view an comment on artifacts in the student’s portfolio.
We will be capturing and sharing your child’s learning through photos, videos, audio, and notes. Captured artifacts and activities will build a Portfolio that will show your child’s progress throughout the school year. Notifications and emails will let you know when your child’s portfolio is updated and share their learning in real-time. It’s like having a window into the classroom. An email has been sent with a link to your child's portfolio.

Macdonald Drive Elementary is proud to once again partner with Vesey’s Bulbs to run a Fall Fundraising Campaign selling quality bulbs and seeds for your garden. Bulbs will be delivered in time for fall planting for lovely blooms in the spring of 2017!
This is a fantastic fundraiser as Vesey’s graciously gives us back half the money raised from all orders collected. We will be treating this fundraiser as a Kindergarten Fundraiser with 50% of all sales going directly back to developing the outdoor component of our program .
The deadline for submission of orders is Friday, October 7th, 2015. Please ensure that all order sheets are totalled and if you have multiple sheets, they are stapled together. Payment may be in the form of cash or cheque, with cheques made payable to Macdonald Drive Elementary School. Bulbs will be delivered to MDE for pick up by families. We will notify you of pick up times once the orders arrive.
