Doodle Buddy

Yesterday, we explored an app on our iPads called Doodle Buddy.

First we used the iPad camera to take a picture of ourselves.  Next, we opened the photo in Doodle Buddy and used chalk to write our names.  Then we saved our new name photos!  We all did a superstar job!

Mrs. Fennemore showed us how we could mirror our creations on the smartboard for everyone to see!  It was magical!

Today, our Blue Group friends came back and some chose to create new stories on our iPads!  Some friends even remembered how to mirror their stories to the smartboard all by themselves!  Hooray!

Benjamin decided to document the very tall structure his group built in the building centre. Of course, he used Doodle Buddy and some great kindergarten writing to share his story - "The tower is high".  Didn't he do a great job?

Fun with an iPad!

Mrs. Fennemore's little boy (who is really a big boy) let us use his iPad today! We were very careful with it.  We are exploring iPads a little to show the grownups who rule all the schools around us that they are a great learning tool!  A few of the kinderkids spent 5 minutes of Daily 5 choice time today to Work on Writing or Word Work using iPad apps.  Look at what a few kinderkids did in under 5 minutes!  Superstars!

First we had some friends choose a free app Skitch to label what was happening with our pumpkin seeds and our caterpillars.

We also had two stories created using the My Story app.  The kinders found this one really easy to use.  We can read and listen to their finished stories on the ipad but we couldn't post it directly here - so I had to videotape it playing on the ipad for you to see! We hope you like them! Not bad for under 5 minutes work!

And another friend told a story about a caterpillar.

Another friend practised how to print and name different letters using My Name.

The Word Magic app was another favorite! Some friends found missing initial sounds while others were stretching words to hear the missing vowel! We are great word detectives!

We are hoping an iPad fairy will come and leave us a few iPads to explore a little longer!
